Cu2ONPs/DIATOMITE INHIBITS GROWTH AND REMOVAL OF MICROCYSTIS AERUGINOSA

چکیده
Cu2O nanoparticles (Cu2ONPs) with particle size of ~27.4 nm deposited on diatomite (Cu2ONPs/diatomite), a new low-cost material has been used to investigate growth inhibit, and bloom preventation cyanobacteria in eutrophic waters. Diatomite collected from natural mines was also the experiments. Microcystis aeruginosa strain originated Bac Lieu shrimp pond isolated cultured Z8 medium. Experiments were conducted by exposing M. Cu2ONPs/diatomite at concentrations 0.1, 0.2, 0.5 g/L for 72 hours 120 hours. The results showed that concentration hours, more effective inhibiting removing cells than diatomite. Therefore, could be as promising cyanobacterial water aquaculture.

Removal of Microcystis aeruginosa using cationic starch modified soils.
A cheap and biodegradable modifier, cationic starch (CS), was used to turn local soils into effective flocculants for Microcystis aeruginosa (M. aeruginosa) removal. The isoelectric point of soil particles was remarkably increased from pH 0.5 to 11.8 after modification with CS, which made CS modified soil particles positively charged and obtain algal flocculation ability. At the soil concentrat...
متن کاملRevealing the characteristics of a novel bioflocculant and its flocculation performance in Microcystis aeruginosa removal
In the present work, a novel bioflocculant, EPS-1, was prepared and used to flocculate the kaolin suspension and Microcystis aeruginosa. We focused on the characteristics and flocculation performance of EPS-1, especially with regard to its protein components. An important attribute of EPS-1 was its protein content, with 18 protein types identified that occupied a total content of 31.70% in the ...
متن کاملRelationship between cell growth and frequency of dividing cells of Microcystis aeruginosa
The validity of the assumption that the specific growth rate of coccoid microorganisms can be expressed as the absolute value of the derivative of frequency of dividing cells (FDC) with respect to time was tested experimentally using a Microcystis aeruginosa strain. FDC was calculated based on the assumption that elongated cells, constricted cells or both may correspond to dividing cells. The s...
متن کاملEffect of Small-Scale Turbulence on the Growth and Metabolism of Microcystis aeruginosa
Microcystis aeruginosa is a single-celled cyanobacterium, forming large colonies on the surface of freshwater ecosystems during summer, and producing a toxin (microcystin) that in high concentration can be harmful to humans and animals. These toxic effects can be governed by abiotic environmental conditions including water temperature, light, nutrient abundance, and fluid motion. We investigate...
متن کاملEffect of phosphorus stress on Microcystis aeruginosa growth and phosphorus uptake
This study was designed to advance understanding of phosphorus regulation of Microcystis aeruginosa growth, phosphorus uptake and storage in changing phosphorus (P) conditions as would occur in lakes. We hypothesized that Microcystis growth and nutrient uptake would fit classic models by Monod, Droop, and Michaelis-Menten in these changing conditions. Microcystis grown in luxury nutrient concen...
